Professional footballers and football fans may, at times, appear to live on different planets.

However, one thing they can always see eye-to-eye on—where the common fan may be able to trump a professional in football—is EA Sports' popular FIFA series.

Reading man Royston Drenthe, formerly of Everton and Real Madrid, put out an invite on Instagram for fans in the Reading area to come play FIFA with him.

He posted on Instagram: "Anyone who thinks they are good at FIFA 14 and is a Reading fan living in Reading like this pic & tomorrow I will choose 4 people to come to mine to play a FIFA 14 tournament winner gets a nice prize which will be revealed tomorrow, drop your number here & hope for a call."

He then posted a series of images and videos on his Instagram page documenting the events. He also pledged for another tournament next month in the Netherlands.
