The Charlotte Bobcats have had a relatively quiet this off-season, add no new free agents.
They also had another unsuccessful draft, drafting Henderson, a guard/small foward combination. The main area of need, a low post player and a proven scoring quard , was not addressed. Okafur isn't as dominate as originally thought when drafted out of UConn.
Okafur needs another proven scorer down low to take some of the double teams away from him.
Raja Bell started at the SG position last year and did a good job, until he got hurt and left the team short handed and the team needs another proven scorer at SG in case on an injury.
That would also address another offensive issue, scoring. Year after year the bobcats come last or close to the bottom of the league in scoring.
The Bobcats were mere games away from making the playoffs and this slideshow will show some free agents that may push the bobcats over the edge into the playoffs.
Frye isn't the best scoring option out there but would be a nice to come off the bench.
4.2 PPG, 2.2 PPG, 0.3 BPG
Von Wafer is a very talented and young player who could come off the bench and play effectively.
9.7 PPG, 1.1 APG, .390 3P%
This is probably the most likely to happen then the others because of the fact that was born in Raleigh,NC and may want to return to this home state.
Wilcox averaged 7.2 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 0.3 BPG
McCants has officially became a UFA according to the Ashville citizen-times. He came from Ashville, NC and also played college ball at UNC, which also makes sense for him to come back to NC.
9.6 PPG, 1.2 APG, .333 3P%
Odom and the Lakers are currently "Far Apart" in contract negotiations according to the Los Angeles Times.
Odom averaged 11.3 PPG, 8.3 RPG, 1.3 BPG
Paul is a young, talented no-nonsense forward who could contribute offensively 13.5 PPG and in rebounds 8.6 RPG, and defensively 1.0 BPG.
This is my favorite because he is a young player who has developed as a young scoring double-double machine.
16 PPG, 11.7 PPG, 0.3 BPG
