According to Dejan Kovacevic of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette the Pirates are "pushing hard" to trade three-time All Star Freddy Sanchez, with the Rockies and Giants named as potential suitors.

The source also told Kovacevic there maybe as many as four or five more teams interested in Sanchez’s services.

The 31 year old Sanchez is the Bucs leading hitter with a .313 average and was recently named to the 2009 NL All Star team.

Teams are said not to be interested in Sanchez’s contract that may exceed $8 million after a 600 plate appearance incentive kicks in. Sanchez is currently at 323 plate appearances.
