Go Tebow Go!!! I would rate Tim Tebow's first SEC game an A. All week Tennessee players have heard about Tim Tebow this and Tim Tebow that...and now they wanted to come after him and prove that he isn't as cranked up to be. As we saw today, Tim Tebow was up to the challenge. Tebow had history going against him. History has proven that young quarterbacks haven't performed well against Volunteer teams. I would say that Tebow changed history today. Tim Tebow completed 14 out of 19 attempts for one yard short of 300 yards with 2TD and 1INT, and rushed for 61 yards on 18 carries.
Tebow started off slow against the Vols but not for the Gators as a team. Stopping the Vols on their first possession, and returning the punt making the score 7-0 Gators. That was pretty much it for the first quarter, until the very end with a 27 yard field goal by Tennessee and a 30 yard strike from Tebow making the score 14-3 with 00:33 left.
From them on, it was all Gators. The Vols made it interesting coming within 8 points in the start of the 3rd quarter, but today it was too much Tebow and company. Tennessee was plagued all day with the big play from Florida and self-inflicted turnovers. The Gators are off to a great start, headed into a tough road trip matchup with the Rebels of Ole Miss next week in Oxford.
