Arsene Wenger has lost the plot, Arsene Wenger no more, Arsene Wenger the stingy.

Whom amongst us has not at any point of time agreed with the above sentiments? I know I have on numerous occasions. But do we truly know what Arsene Wenger is trying to achieve?

All we know is that he is trying to build a team rather than buy a team. Sounds trivial and fickle, but just take a couple of minutes and think about it.

When was the last time you heard of a manager trying to build a team rather than buy a team? For that fact, did we ever hear of a team going an entire season without losing? No.

Arsene Wenger is trying to write history, trying to bring back glory to a sport that is now completely commercialized and corrupt.

Do you think Ronaldo actually went to Real Madrid because there was nothing more to achieve at Manchester United, or that Karim Benzema went to Real Madrid because it would benefit the club?

The only reason they transferred to Real Madrid is because of the money. Wenger is trying to bring back loyalty and value to football, something that the likes of United and Real Madrid know nothing about.

All Wenger asks in return is patience and faith, something that a true Arsenal fan will blindly give him because he deserves it.

He has transformed this club, he has given it his all. You ask any of the old Arsenal players under Wenger's tutelage whether joining Arsenal is good idea and their response would surely be a resounding yes.

It is because they know Arsene's brilliance. We the fans are just impatient and fickle and want success at any cost, be it sacrificing the club's morals and ethics. It's a shame that Wenger does not have the true fans he deserves.
