It's been quite a summer for German football.

The rich get richer, it seems, as after the Germans hoisted the World Cup earlier in Brazil, their youngsters got it done in Budapest.

The senior team, already without a shortage of talent, will be talent-laden for years (or decades) to come, as their under-19 team defeated Portugal 1-0 to win the U-19 European Championship.

Hany Mukhtar scored the winner.

"Many congratulations to everyone who was part of this success," senior German boss Joachim Loew told the German football association's website (h/t dw.de).

"The team had a terrific tournament—the European Championship showed that German football can look forward to new great talent."
