This is a list not for me, but for you, the readers.

I'm curious to see who people's five favorite current baseball players are.

Do people base their liking of players based on what players play for their teams, players' personalities, or success of players?

I base mine on a combination of those aforementioned things.

Here are my current favorite five players, with reason.

But more importantly, who are your favorite five players, and why?

5. Hunter Pence (Houston Astros)

Hunter is one of the most underrated players in the game. At 26, in his third year, he was selected by his peers to go to the All-Star game.

Why do I like this guy? He had a great rookie season in 2007 that was (deservedly) overshadowed by Ryan Braun. But he's a warrior.

He's a player that's always happy and smiling. He brings class to the game, which not all players do. He plays great defense on the field and is a great teammate.

He's also a humanitarian in his home state of Texas.

4. Tim Lincecum (San Francisco Giants)

The first time I ever watched this guy pitch, I was amazed. He's one player that lived up to the hype around him.

This guy won the Cy Young in just his second year and is well on pace to win another one already.

He also has great character and always looks like he's having a good time.

3. Scott Kazmir (Tampa Bay *Devil* Rays)

This guy was a high school sensation, throwing four straight no-hitters.

I liked Kazmir more before the Rays were successful; I don't why. Also, his dealing to the Rays was one of the worst trades in Mets history.

He was an under-the-radar player because he played on such an awful team. Kaz was the strikeout king in 2007 and got no coverage.

2. Jermaine Dye (Chicago White Sox)

Dye is still one of the most underrated players in the game. He keeps getting better with age.

He should've been in MVP talk last year and All-Star talk this year, but he's used to getting no love.

But more awesome is the way he shrugs it off. He doesn't care about attention—he just loves playing the game.

I like him for his World Series performance in 2005. He was the MVP and propelled the White Sox to victory.

1. Chase Utley (Philadelphia Phillies)

NEW YORK - JUNE 10: Chase Utley #26 of the Philadelphia Phillies rounds the bases after hitting a home run against The New York Mets in the eleventh inning putting the Phillies ahead 5-4 during their game on June 10, 2009 at Citi Field in the Flushing ne

This guy will win an MVP before his career is over. He is the definition of a warrior. His teammates describe him as having a great work ethic and knowledge of the game.

He played through hip pain and came back earlier than expected. He also has an under-appreciated glove.

Utley also has great character and is really funny (refer to last year's home run derby).
