After already losing Marian Hossa, Ty Conklin and Tomas Kopecky already this summer, the Detroit Red Wings suffered another potentially devastating setback on Thursday.
Reports are that Jiri Hudler has agreed to a two-year contract with a Russian club team, the Dynamo, for a total of $10 million. The obvious benefit to Hudler is that this $10 million will come without income taxes.
As players continue moving, especially Hossa to Chicago and Saku Koivu to Anaheim, Detroit stands to see a significant shift in the balance of power in the Western Conference next year.
