Minor League Managers Brawl, Get Ejected in Bench-Clearing Brawl

Tristan ThornburghSocial Media StaffJuly 31, 2014

Minor League Baseball has seen a bench-clearing brawl twice in the same inning recently, but that may now have been topped.

In the 10th inning of the Ogden Raptors and Idaho Falls Chukars' showdown, designated hitter Justin Chigbogu struck out and Chukars catcher Pedro Gonzalez had some words for him as he headed toward the dugout. After both benches cleared, manager Jack McDowell (a 1993 AL Cy Young winner) started yelling at Chukars manager Omar Ramirez before reportedly throwing a punch.

Wait for the 0:49 mark for the real fight to break out.

Umpires ejected both managers, four Raptors and two Chukars. Idaho Falls won 9-8 in 16 innings.
