Predicting the Match of the Night: The Wolves vs. Bad Influence
Friday’s Xtravaganza PPV has an action-packed card, but the match with the best chance to steal the show is a tag team battle between The Wolves (Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards) and Bad Influence (Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian).
Not only will the contest feature four of the best technical wrestlers in the business today, but it will also take place with a Ladder match stipulation. With all four wrestlers having a history in this type of bout, this could be a match of the year candidate.
Add in the fact that Bad Influence is no longer with TNA, and this meeting of past and future will have an aura around it that wasn’t there when it was first taped in April.
Wrestling fans have always enjoyed the work of Bad Influence. Daniels is one of the most decorated X-Division wrestlers of all time (four-time champion) and can work a great match with almost anyone. While Daniels is the more recognizable face in the pair, Kazarian is the better in-ring worker and the more decorated champion in TNA (five-time X-Division champion).
The two men are great workers alone, but the partners feed off each other when together, and their confidence is palpable. Whether playing the role of good guys or the slimy heels, Daniels and Kazarian are elite performers.
When Bad Influence steps into the ring, though, The Wolves will be ready for them.
Richards and Edwards may not have the history with TNA that Daniels and Kazarian possess, but they were top stars in the nation’s No. 3 wrestling promotion, Ring of Honor. Both members of The Wolves held the Ring of Honor World Championship before eventually joining forces to win tag team gold on two separate occasions.
As the two-time and defending tag team champions of Impact Wrestling, The Wolves will be ready to steal the show and prove to Bad Influence they belong at the elite level.
The Ladder match stipulation will add even more intrigue to what already promises to be a great technical showcase, and the element of danger will convince many fans on the fence about ordering this PPV to make the leap of faith.
Add in Ethan Carter III putting up $25,000 of his own money, and there is bound to be some interference from one of TNA's most underrated stars. Bad Influence plus ECIII equals comedy gold.
With Bad Influence leaving the company shortly after this event was taped, The Wolves should get the rub in this match, but all four men will be trying to steal the headlines.
The resulting bout should be the best fans see all night.
Predicted Winner: The Wolves
