WWE's Greatest Heels of the '00s

Today, I have brought an article to you, it's just personal opinion, not fact, so don't get all mad about it if you disagree.

Heels are the bad guys of WWE. They make fans hate them enough, just to want to punch them in the face.

There are many different heels: monster heels such as Umaga, ego-driven heels such as Chris Jericho, just for examples.

Ever since the beginning of wrestling, there has been a face—a good guy, and a heel—a bad guy.

So, without further ado...

Let's get started...

Edge

There's no doubt that he's considered one of the best heels of this decade. Nicknamed, "The Rated R Superstar" for a reason, Edge has been on a reign of terror. He's always telling the fans they're, "wrong, wrong, wrong," while he's, "right, right, right!"

Still, the man is a nine-time World Champion during his heel run, and he's one of the most successful and hated superstars in WWE history.

Mr. McMahon

Not only does he own the WWE, but he runs it to his advantage when ever possible.

He has been feuding with the likes of Bret Hart, Stone Cold, The Rock, Shawn Michaels, Hulk Hogan, Triple H, his own son Shane McMahon, Randy Orton, and even his wife and daughter, Linda and Stephanie McMahon.

Still, Mr. McMahon has been an excellent heel in dang near all of his feuds, insulting us fans, etc.

Vince is one of the top heels of the '00s.

Kurt Angle

This man is considered to be one of the most gifted technicians to ever set foot in a wrestling ring.

His name is Kurt Angle, a former multi-time World Champion, Angle represented and won a gold medal in 1996 for the U.S.

Angle was really one of those funny, cheesy-type heels, who complained a lot. He was also well-known for his entrance, where the fans would chant, "You Suck," thanks to Edge, when they feuded in 2002.

Anyone that can make fans chant, "You Suck" in their entrance has deserved a spot on this list, and that man is "The Wrestling Machine", Kurt Angle.

Randy Orton

He's described as "The Future of This Business," "The Viper," and, formerly, "The Legend Killer." He is not only my favorite wrestler ever, and a five-time World Champion, but he is Randy Orton.

Randy Orton reminds me of a younger, brighter Triple H—when Triple H was in Evolution. Orton seems to have a more evil approach to his opponents, but Triple H was vicious in his own right.

Orton probably holds the record for "Sidelining the Most Superstars," as his sideline list includes the likes of, Batista, Triple H, Ric Flair, Rob Van Dam, Undertaker, Ted DiBiase, Shawn Michaels, Matt Hardy, John Cena, The McMahons, John Cena's father, Dusty Rhodes, and Sgt. Slaughter.

If this continues, Orton, by the end of his career could become the best heel of all time.

Kane

I really don't like Kane, but he was a good heel from 2002-2004, where he feuded with the likes of Undertaker, Triple H, Matt Hardy, and Edge, among others.

The only real reason why Kane is on this list is that he brought back "The Undertaker" from the 90s and killed the "American Badass" gimmick that Taker had; and thank God, because that gimmick was bad.

So for that, thank you Kane, and you've received a spot on this list.

Muhammad Hassan

Even though his WWE career was pretty much "short-lived," Muhammad Hassan was fired for being the "perfect" heel in my opinion.

His gimmick was an Arab-American, who would rant about how America would treat Arabs.

Hassan's most notable victories were against, Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, The Hurricane, Sgt. Slaughter, and Big Show.

JBL

JBL, also known as "John Bradshaw Layfield" or "Bradshaw," is another great heel of this decade, as he was a former WWE Champion.

He had an evil millionaire-type gimmick, such as Ted DiBiase Sr., that he played very well.

Overall, JBL in my opinion, was one of the best heels of this decade.

Chris Jericho

You cannot leave Y2J out of this list. He's, without a doubt, a top heel in the business, even before this current run.

He was such a jerk that after an epic match with Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania XIX, he gave Shawn a low blow, when Shawn won via schoolboy pin.

Jericho can be described as an ego-manic, and one of the greatest ego-maniacs of all time. He plays his egotistical heel role nearly with "perfection."

Chris Jericho, not only one of the greatest heels of all time, but one of the greatest wrestlers to step foot in the ring.

Triple H

And...

Here is the greatest heel of this decade: "The Game," "The Cerebral Assassin," Triple H!

Triple H has all the qualities of being a perfect heel: gimmick, personality, attitude, look, back-up, and, of course, World Title reigns, as he is a 13-time World Champion.

Triple H had the mentality, "I don't care who you are. If you're in my way, I'm gunna take you out."

He just had that "greed," which was the key to his success in this business.

Still, all in all, Triple H is possibly the greatest heel of all time, and without a doubt the greatest of our generation.

Side Notes:

Muhammad Hassan was really fired because of his gimmick. I just think that he was fired because he was playing his role perfectly, an Arab-ranting American who describes just how America really is. Some didn't like it, so he was taken off the air and eventually released.

I didn't add the likes of Stone Cold or The Rock, because I didn't like their roles as heels.
