Brie Bella will make her in-ring return to WWE at SummerSlam, and she's going to do it against Stephanie McMahon.

SummerSlam's Twitter feed confirmed the news:

Brie, who quit in June after McMahon threatened to strip Daniel Bryan of the WWE world heavyweight title, returned to get her job back Monday night. She demanded a SummerSlam match with McMahon, and after some reluctance from Steph, the match was finally made.

By that time, McMahon appeared to be in tears, but when Brie got close, the WWE's chief brand officer wailed on the Bella twin and followed it up with this line:

Furthering the feud, Brie's husband went to Twitter to take a shot at Stephanie's husband:

In terms of in-ring action, Brie vs. Stephanie probably isn't going to instill a ton of excitement. However, if Monday night was any indication, the buildup and storyline development will provide plenty of entertainment.

The Sports Hernia's Tim Ryan and BlackSportsOnline's Robert Littal offered their analysis, praising McMahon for her work as a heel:

While Triple H has played Vince McMahon's role in The Authority, Stephanie's work can't be overlooked. She has been tremendous as a heel, and it's quite clear she has Vince's genes.

The final segment was a good one, and, as Sami Zayn noted, it was a very important moment for the women's division:

It will be intriguing to see where this feud goes in the next couple of weeks before SummerSlam on August 17. There are a lot of potential directions the WWE can take it, and interest in one of the company's biggest PPVs is certainly starting to grow.

A week ago, most wouldn't have believed a women's segment would be capable of making that happen.
