Tensions flared during a Double-A minor league game Friday night between the Birmingham Barons (Chicago White Sox affiliate) and Jacksonville Suns (Miami Marlins).

In the ninth inning with the Barons up 5-1, Birmingham infielder Jeremy Farrell crossed home plate, bumped into Suns pitcher Matt Ramsey and exchanged some words with him, causing the benches to clear.

After things had seemingly settled down, the benches cleared once again around eight minutes later. Following the dust-up, five players and Suns manager Andy Barkett were ejected.

Barons backup catcher Martin Medina was taken to the hospital following the second scrum after a blow to the face resulted in blood building up in his eye.
