The Minnesota Wild are set on the blueline.

The Wild returns four top defenseman, has another that played significant mintues with the team, has a few in the AHL that may be NHL ready and signed two free agents.

The three defensive pairings should be Brent Burns and Nick Schultz as the first pairing, Marek Zidlicky and Greg Zanon as the second pairing and Kim Johnsson and Shane Hnidy as the third pairing.

All three pairings have the perfect combination of offensive and defensive skills. Also, only the third pairing have not played together before, but the extremes of their skills make them an intriguing pairing. Johnsson is very good with puck, but has trouble in the defensive zone. Hnidy is very good in the defensive zone, but lacks offensive ability.
