Updates from Monday, July 28

Eliaquim Mangala is yet to seal his move to Manchester City, according to Manuel Pellegrini.

The City boss offered the following update, per ESPN FC, after City's website had previously posted a video that appeared to suggest the deal was done:

I think it's important not to talk about things that are not 100 percent, so I'll keep my opinion [to myself] about that.

Premier League champions Manchester City posted a video on their website on Thursday which appears to inadvertently reveal the signing of Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala.

The video—filmed for City TV—has subsequently been removed, but it showed the 23-year-old Frenchman arriving in Manchester on a private jet before being taken by car for his medical 12 days ago.

At one point he is asked to give a message to City fans and seemingly confirmed his much-rumoured £32 million move to Eastlands, via an interpreter, per Simon Mullock in The Daily Mirror:

"I am here to help the team to win titles: the league, the cup and the Champions League."

Football writer Jan Hagen provides various stills from the five-minute clip:

However, someone has clearly jumped the gun somewhat in posting the video, as a spokesman for the club confirmed that the deal has not yet been completed, per BBC Sport's Mike Keegan:

"Our video storage system for City TV has been hacked and the video was leaked. The deal is not done or officially confirmed on our website."

The video seems to suggest that Mangala's move to City is imminent and it would be a strong signing for Manuel Pellegrini's side as the Frenchman is a terrific young talent.

He has made 92 appearances for Porto since joining from Standard Liege in 2011 and would add further strength to City's back line, especially as Vincent Kompany's centre-back partner per football writer Paul Sarahs:

He would constitute the most high-profile signing of the summer for the Manchester outfit, who have already brought in midfielder Fernando, defender Bacary Sagna and goalkeeper Willy Caballero to strengthen their squad.

Pellegrini will be looking to claim another Premier League title in 2014-15 as well as an improved campaign in the Champions League.

A more sturdy defence will be key to achieving these aims and Mangala's physicality and speed should make for a fine addition to the side. But it is not a done deal just yet and City will be hoping that the leaked video will not jeopardise the signing of a quality young player.
