Chelsea Youngster Mitchell Beeney Victim of Prank During His Initiation Song

Mark PattersonUK Staff WriterJuly 24, 2014

Chelsea have a tradition of making new members of the squad sing a song in front of their team-mates.

For a youngster making his way into a group of illustrious names, it can be quite daunting.

So why not up the ante and throw a pie in his face?

That was the fate of Mitchell Beeney, who is with the team on their tour of the USA.

He was halfway through his rendition of "Valerie" by The Zutons when club masseur Bill McCulloch interrupted with a cream pie.

Team-mate Isaiah Brown was filming, so the prank was shared not just with the Blues squad but also with the whole world. And Nathaniel Chalobah gave two thumbs up to the "banter":

Tonight's banter from Bill the masseur was up there. if your singing is poor expect a plate of cream in your face... he's set the standard 😂

Time will tell if Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas got the same treatment.
