I love Friday nights, for a couple reasons.
One, there’s no class or work the next day.
I guess that means suddenly I’m staying up until all hours of the night, and find myself more or less being completely unproductive, kind of like right now, as I write about an article about the second reason Saturday Eve is so great – it means we’re only mere hours away from another fun-filled day (if you’re not wearing maize and blue) of football.
College football is the best thing to have ever occurred in the history of America, followed closely by the invention of the George Foreman grill. Nothing beats a Saturday of football, heck, even better with an upgrade of food made on the George Foreman grill. Pure bliss. I’d be willing to bet that’s kinda what heaven’s gonna be like. Shoot, I bet George Foreman himself will probably be there too.
But I digress. Back to Saturdays and football…there is one rule in college football though, above all others. That is, you must pick your team and stick with it. For me, me team’s always been BYU. Pick your team and stay with them. There will be no bandwagon overloading or sinking ship bailing in college football. I mean, I love Appalachian State’s victory over Michigan, but uh…odds are slim to none that I go out suddenly to purchase a slick new Mountaineer jersey. I can’t, because I don’t have room in my closet – it’s already taken up by Boise State, Wake Forest, and Rutgers jerseys that I purchased last year…
I probably won’t have to say this because you’ll pick up on it quick, but I love BYU football. My intent in writing my future articles isn’t to convince all of you to become rabid BYU fans – although please do if you feel so inclined to make that your team of choice – but rather to give you a better look into BYU football and what we’re all about. There’s just not a whole lot better that spending Saturday afternoons in the fall at LaVell Edwards Stadium with 65,000 others.
