On Friday afternoon, the New York Yankees surprisingly announced a date for a ceremony celebrating the career of shortstop Derek Jeter. The ceremony was set for Sunday September 7 before a game against the Kansas City Royals. In the hours after the announcement, the average asking price for Yankees vs Royals tickets on the secondary market dramatically increased and the game is now the most expensive remaining game of the regular season.
