MLB, NL Central, Chicago Cubs, Sean Gallagher

Chad Fox was recalled from Tennessee and Kevin Hart optioned out to Iowa, according to RotoWorld. Fox is a true reliever, so we're not going to waste Sean Gallagher in the bullpen. We may need Sean as a starter later this year. Although, RotoWorld seems to be saying they think Neal Cotts or Gallagher would be a better choice.

Scott Eyre was at Tennessee with Fox, and he'll stay in AA for now. We'll see moves Lou and Jim make next. Cubs and Cards get it on in a few minutes. I'll post some Adam Wainwright stuff during the game, along with some more PITCHf/x goodies from April. Rich Hill takes the ball for the Cubs.

  1. I know he wasn't pitching as well as last year, but I don't think they should have sent Hart down. Chad Fox is another injury waiting to happen. Gallagher is being used in the pen, which is OK b/c he can fill the role that Lieber had now that Jon is going into the rotation to replace Hill.

Funny what started out as such a positive (the bullpen) is becoming such a problem.

  2. I like Hart, too. But, he has options, so let him work out his command issues in Iowa. Fox, as you mention, can't last for long. Gallagher needs to be a starter, I don't like him in the bullpen long term. I bet he goes back to the minors when Eyre is activated, with Marshall to the rotation, Lieber back to the 'pen.
