Cristiano Ronaldo's son has not been told who his mother is, and according to the footballer's sister, there are no plans for him to ever find out.

Cristiano Jr., now four years old, was born in 2010. His mother's identity has never been revealed, with the Daily Mirror describing her as a surrogate.

Ronaldo's mother, Dolores Aveiro, recently released an autobiography in her native Portugal, which contains several revelations about her son and has brought her grandson into the spotlight.

However, Ronaldo's sister, Elma, is quoted by the Mirror as saying:

"Once we told him she was in Heaven, but my brother and mum asked us not to repeat it.

"We say now his mum went travelling. He doesn’t ask anymore.”

Questions about the woman surfaced again last week when Ronaldo’s mum Dolores Aveiro released an official biography in which she revealed she went to the US to pick up Cristianinho after his 2010 birth.

She said Ronaldo, 29, told her: “The mum will never be known.”

As per the Irish Independent, Ronaldo is believed to be on good terms with his family. However, he was not present at his mother's book launch, citing pre-season preparations as Real Madrid gear up for the 2014-15 campaign.

Ronaldo's son has lived with him since his birth. In the same year, the forward began dating his long-term partner, Russian supermodel Irina Shayk.
