Henrik To Replace Ohlund As an Alternate Captain?

ATLANTA - JANUARY 26: Western Conference All-Star Henrik Sedin #33 of the Vancouver Canucks looks on during the Dodge/NHL SuperSkills competition as part of the 2008 NHL All-Star weekend at Philips Arena on January 26, 2008 in Atlanta, Georgia. The Sedins are now the longest serving Canucks on the current roster. They've shown leadership, skill and a dogged determination in their play and a consistent improvement of their performance. To say they aren't fully dedicated to their team and to this city would be foolhardy.

Is it time to name at least one if not both of them as alternate captains?

If we can only pick one, I would suggest Henrik first as he plays the centre position and would be an obvious choice to take ceremonial face offs. There's also the added benefit that being on the top line and hence receiving more ice time, they would already be in position on the ice more frequently to converse with the referees as well.

Both twins in this writer's opinion have quietly earned the right and respect it takes to wear a letter on your jersey in the NHL. Here's hoping they get them.
