Blackpool's troubled season has left them in a position of only having eight players on the books with their Championship campaign beginning on August 9.

So they were left in the unfortunate position of having to add triallists—five of them—to the ranks for their pre-season friendly with Penrith on Saturday.

Triallists were also named on the bench—if you're one of the contracted players, you'd have to feel a little disheartened to still not be making the starting XI:

In the end, Blackpool won the game by a 4-0 margin—the first of the goals going to a triallist, of course:

13: Waddington wins Blackpool a free-kick, which is taken by Grant and bundled home by a trialist.

It was a moment of light-heartedness in an otherwise desperate situation for the Tangerines.
