Yaya Toure Turns Down Shock Cross-City Switch

Hoping to take advantage of any discontent that may exist between club and player, United have reportedly been rejected in their bid to take Yaya Toure away from the Etihad Stadium this summer.

That's according to the Daily Star's Jeremy Cross, who claims the Ivorian is upset with City, firstly for not celebrating his birthday in sufficient fashion before then preventing him from seeing his dying brother before his passing. depicts just what an elite talent City's star midfielder has been of late:

Van Gaal could certainly find use for an engine-room presence of Toure's skill set, but the video above shows the player affirming his commitment to Manuel Pellegrini's cause.

In what's fast becoming one of the sagas of the summer, Arturo Vidal refuses to reveal which way he's leaning in regards to a possible move to Manchester United.

Speaking to Chilean radio station ADN (h/t Ben Jefferson of The Express), the Juve midfielder said:

Right now I'm just working on gaining strength and mobility.  I can't say I've completed a cycle at Juventus. If I stay, I intend to keep doing things right. It would be nice to play against Gary Medel in Italy. I hope it can happen.

Medel is set to complete a move from Cardiff City to Inter, per Tor-Kristian Karlsen, giving one the impression that Vidal may yet be happy to remain in Turin:

United will want a deal lined up quickly so that they can move on to other areas in need of improvement, and it's unlikely Van Gaal will be kept waiting for long.

Feyenoord Turn Down English Advance on Jordy Clasie

Feyenoord have warned off English suitors in their hopes of landing prodigy Jordy Clasie this summer, the midfielder who travelled with Van Gaal's Dutch squad to this year's World Cup.

Club sporting director Martin van Geel spoke to Dutch publication De Telegraaf (h/t Metro's Vaishali Bhardwaj) this week, telling Clasie's admirers to look elsewhere:

Jordy is very happy at Feyenoord and we have no intention of selling him. A transfer is not really a must for him. I don’t expect too much to happen around him. We are willing to go the extra mile to hold on to him and the rest of the team.

With that in mind, the Red Devils may be in need of more instant impact than the potential Clasie would bring, but it's nonetheless good for United to know their chances early on this summer.
