Fantasy Baseball Free Agent Pool: Speed Demons

Just because you’ve slipped behind in the Stolen Base category doesn’t mean you can’t catch up.  Here are some reasonably available SB threats.

Elvis Andrus, SS, Texas Rangers – Elvis was the King of the basepaths last week with 5 SBs.  He hit .333 (5 for 15) with 4 Runs and an RBI.  On the year he’s hitting .268 with 16 SBs, 33 Runs, 3 HRs and 15 RBI.  He’s owned in 32 percent of Yahoo!, 57.7 percent of ESPN, and 44 percent of CBS leagues.

Nyjer Morgan, OF, Washington Nationals - Morgan had 3 SBs last week while hitting .267 (4 for 15) with 2 Runs and an RBI.  On the year he’s hitting .276 with 21 SBs, 41 Runs, 2 HRs, and 28 RBI.  He’s owned in 54 percent of Yahoo!, 40.2 percent of ESPN, and 46 percent of CBS leagues.

Everth Cabrera, SS, Sand Diego Padres - Everth had 3 SBs last week while hitting .217 (5 for 23) with 5 Runs and 6 RBI.  On the year he’s hitting .286 with 6 SBs, 16 Runs, and 10 RBIs.  He’s owned in six percent of Yahoo!, one percent of ESPN, and 15 percent of CBS leagues.

Adam Kennedy, 2B/3B/OF, Oakland A’s - Kennedy had 2 SBs last week while hitting .333 (8 for 24) with 3 Runs and 3 RBIs.  On the year he’s hitting .296 with 9 SBs, 25 Runs, 6 HRs, and 28 RBI.  He’s owned in 38 percent of Yahoo!, 11.6 percent of ESPN, and 32 percent of CBS leagues.

Scott Hairston, OF, Oakland A’s - Scott was recently acquired from the San Diego Padres.  Last week he had 2 SBs while hitting .217 (5 for 23) with 4 Runs, a HR, and 2 RBIs.  On the year he’s hitting .298 with 8 SBs, 27 Runs, 10 HRs, and 29 RBI.  He’s owned in 36 percent of Yahoo!, 10.5 percent of ESPN, and 34 percent of CBS leagues.

Dexter Fowler, OF, Colorado Rockies - Fowler picked up a pair of SBs last week while hitting .200 (3 for 15) with 2 Runs and 2 RBI.  On the year he’s hitting .250 with 16 SBs, 37 Runs, 3 HRs, and 20 RBIs.  He’s owned in 18 percent of Yahoo!, 12.9 percent of ESPN, and 30 percent of CBS leagues.

Emilio Bonifacio, 2B/3B/SS, Florida Marlins - Emilio had 2 SBs last week while hitting .360 (9 for 25) with 5 Runs.  On the year he’s hitting .258 with 18 SBs, 47 Runs, 1 HR, and 20 RBI.  He’s owned in 36 percent of Yahoo!, 40.1 percent of ESPN, and 43 percent of CBS leagues.

Luis Castillo, SB, New York Mets -  Castillo had 2 SBs last week while hitting .267 (4 for 15) with a Run.  On the year he’s hitting .276 with 10 SBs, 40 Runs, and 16 RBI.  He’s owned in 12 percent of Yahoo!, 7.5 percent of ESPN, and 18 percent of CBS leagues.
