Adrian Peterson Whiffs Jennie Finch's Pitches Badly at Celebrity Softball Game

The celebrity softball game doesn't get much hype during Major League Baseball's All-Star Weekend, but it often provides some pretty awesome moments.

This year's All-Star festivities are being held at Target Field in Minnesota. The home crowd got to witness a great moment: Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson versus softball player Jennie Finch.

You can probably guess how that turned out.

Finch blew a couple fastballs by Peterson before letting up. Even when she took it easy on the NFL star, Peterson had a tough time making contact.

Although he was given credit for a foul ball on the third pitch, it's not clear as to whether he actually made contact. Peterson was eventually able to put the ball in play, only to ground out.

MLB.com has a better look at the battle.

For those of you who feel sorry for Peterson, don't. He asked Finch to bring it on, via ESPN.com's Ben Goessling:

"I said, 'Don't take it easy on me. I want you to come with a fastball.' She said, 'What else?' I said, 'Changeup.' Initially, I thought she was going to continue to throw them underhand, but she saw I was serious."

There's no shame in looking bad while facing Finch. She is, after all, one of the greatest softball players ever.

It was a rough day for Peterson even in the field. While playing in the outfield, the running back dropped a fly ball.

At least Peterson now knows he made the right choice by playing football.
