I love football!

I love watching football and I love playing football.

My favourite league is the English Premier League, which is strange considering I’m a Scot. Everyone has their favourite players, teams and leagues and they are entitled to do so.

Does this mean one is unable to comment on the EPL, because they like it?

I support Glasgow Rangers and I’m very proud of my team. Does this mean one is unable to function as a writer?

The answer to both must categorically be No! Why would people write about football if they didn’t like it?

I take a lot of pride in my work and do my best to remain as objective as possible when commenting on other people's work. This can’t always be possible and not everyone is going to be happy! There is no reason to not defend one's favourite team.

We have a great website to air our opinions on! www.bleacherreport.com has many regular users who love a good debate and to air their views in well-written articles.

I salute all who submit their work to be viewed by the masses!

Recently though, I have noticed some disturbing comments on the site. I urge the community to stand together and not get too negative about the remarks. After all anyone can swear and go on like a child but it takes skill and some hard work to be respected as a writer.

I encourage anyone who doesn’t like someone’s opinion to write their own article stating how they see it.

The Collins Minigem English Dictionary defines opinion as what one thinks about something; belief; judgment.

Collins Today’s English Dictionary says “An opinion is a personal belief or judgment about something.”

Bleacher Report encourages you to write your opinion and if you stick to the above, you are well within your rights to pass comment, so please don’t be put off by those who appear to be less "informed."

  1. Well said Andrew. We're all writing our opinions and whilst I might not agree with what people say, I try to comment constructively and not maliciously.

If you feel so vehemently about a topic - write an article yourself!

  2. While I may not agree withyou on several other isues, Im with you on this one Andrew. Well said.....

  3. Here, Here.

  5. Andrew seems like the rattle has fell out of the pram!!!

  6. Yes it`s all about opinion.

I think when the dust settles we learn things. I know I have.

    I exercise reciprocity.
If the others keeps it civil so be it.
If they up the anti....then the gloves come off.

    1. I have that problem, I'm trying to stay civil most of the time, mainly Oakland Raiders fans ruffel my feathers.

  7. Forgive my grammar and bad spelling...... English is not my first language.

  8. Totally agree

  9. i am not a great writer and dont pretend to be. but i agree that this website is not only about opinions, but opinions supported by facts. i have written 2 articles in which i've expressed my opinions that are supported by accurate fact. also, i dont believe people should get angry over articles on this site, because its very simple: you dont have to read the article!

  10. great point,in my opinion.

  11. nicely said andrew. i don't preach to being a great writer. in-fact, i know i'm pretty crap, but we all have an opinion and this is the place to express it. plus this will help me at autocar :)
