American TV Channel WENY Cut Away from World Cup Final to Give a Weather Update

Imagine sitting through 115 minutes of the World Cup final, watching to see if Germany can hang on to the 1-0 lead Mario Gotze had just given them, only for the TV channel to cut away from the game for a weather update.

That's exactly what happened to viewers in some parts of southern New York and northern Pennsylvania who were watching the game on ABC affiliate WENY.

Mitigating circumstances—there was a tornado on the way—but still, if you're watching the World Cup final, you're probably going to sit tight for the next few minutes anyway...
