A great holiday weekend was soured for NFL fans upon the news that former Titans and Ravens quarterback Steve McNair had died. Chances are most of you have heard the news by now, so I will do my best to avoid sounding redundant.

As of last night, Nashville police have officially deemed the death a homicide and the investigation is ongoing.

The circumstances of McNair’s death remain cloudy at best. Regardless, the loss of McNair sent shockwaves through the NFL community from his former coaches and teammates to fans of the late quarterback. McNair was as tough as they come on the football field, playing through multiple injuries over the course of his career.

Though he was taken far, far too soon, McNair’s body now shall rest in peace. He was 36-years old.
