National league injury updates

Tim Hudson is slated to return to the Braves rotation sometime in August after missing the entire season thus far due to ligament damage in his elbow.

The Braves have pushed back Kenshin Kawakami’s next start to July 8, due to a sore neck.

Kyle Lohse had a shaky outing in his first rehab start but is still on track to return to the Cardinals' rotation Sunday.

After straining his left wrist, Mark DeRosa will have an MRI on Monday to determine if the injury is serious.

The Brewers' Dave Bush is scheduled for his first rehab start on July 15 after suffering right-arm fatigue.

The Cubs will be getting their cleanup hitter back this week, when Aramis Ramirez is activated from the disabled list.

After a specialist concluded shoulder surgery was not necessary, Brandon Webb announced he will forego surgery and be back sometime late in the season.

Jason Schmidt threw seven and two thirds scoreless innings in a Triple-A rehab start last weekend, and is slated to make his debut for the Dodgers sometime in the near future.

After hurting his shoulder swinging a bat on Sunday, Randy Johnson was taken out of the game and is now listed as day-to-day.

Hanley Ramirez was scratched from the Marlins lineup on Sunday after suffering form a tight hip flexor, and is listed as day-to-day.

The Mets hope to have Jose Reyes back after the all-star break, after missing him for over a month with a hamstring tear.

After a second opinion on his knee, Carlos Beltran is now certain that his injury is only a bone bruise and will not require surgery.

Oliver Perez threw a three inning rehab session on July 3, and is slated to return after one or two more rehab starts.

The Padres' ace, Jake Peavy, will now have to wear a boot for about two more weeks to help secure his partially torn ankle tendon.

The Phillies hope to activate Raul Ibanez off of the disabled list sometime this week, after missing the last couple weeks with a strained groin.

Ryan Doumit began his rehab assignment on Sunday after joining Triple-A Indianapolis, and is slated to return to the Pirates lineup sometime after the all-star break.
