American league injury updates
After successful Tommy John surgery, Athletics pitcher Josh Outman will be shut down until at least the beginning of the 2010 season.
The Blue Jays have placed starting pitcher Scott Richmond on the disabled list after being scratched from his July 5 start.
The Blue Jays hope to have relief pitcher Scott Downs back in the bullpen this week after missing the last couple weeks with a sprained big toe.
Erik Bedard is set to take the mound on July 7 after a successful simulated game on July 3 in which he threw 54 pitches.
The Rangers expect to have slugger Josh Hamilton back in the lineup sometime during the week of July 6, after missing the last month and a half of the season.
