National League Snubs

Philly Cheese Snub

Mark Reynolds (.269 BA, 24 HR, 61 RBI, 53 R, .354 OBP, 13 SB)

Responsible for the Snubbing

Ryan Howard (.252 BA, 20 HR, 60 RBI, 47 R, .326 OBP, 3 SB)

Those Affected by Secondhand Snubbing

Matt Kemp (.305 BA, 10 HR, 44 RBI, 43 R, .369 OBP, 19 SB)
Adam Dunn (.264 BA, 22 HR, 59 RBI, 38 R, .401 OBP)
Michael Bourn (.289 BA, 2 HR, 19 RBI, 47 R, .359 OBP, 27 SB)
Shane Victorino (.300 BA, 5 HR, 35 RBI, 55 R, .363 OBP, 13 SB)

I understand these players do not play the same position as Howard, but since the National League already has Albert Pujols, Prince Fielder, and Adrian Gonzalez at first base and Howard is a backup, I felt I could replace Howard with any one of them, but especially Reynolds. Not to mention the fact that Reynolds has far better numbers.

Reynolds is top 10 in the National League in home runs (second), runs (seventh), slugging percentage (sixth), runs batted in (third), and stolen bases (ninth).

Chicks dig the long ball, and apparently so do voters.

People may argue Freddy Sanchez (.316 BA, 6 HR, 33 RBI, 42 R, .355 OBP, 5 SB) should be replaced, but he is the only representative of the Pirates and is not having a bad year at all.

You Must Have Been Higher than the Rocky Mountain Snubs

Yovani Gallardo (8-5, 2.75 ERA, 114 K, 1.15 WHIP)
Javier Vazquez (5-7, 3.05 ERA, 130 K, 1.07 WHIP)

Responsible for the Snubbing

Jason Marquis (10-5, 3.87 ERA, 51 K, 1.31 WHIP)

Those Affected by Secondhand Snubbing

Jair Jurrjens (6-6, 2.73 ERA, 74 K, 1.24 WHIP)
Johnny Cueto (8-4, 2.69 ERA, 78 K, 1.12 WHIP)

Once again, we witness people's strange obsession with wins. Vazquez and Gallardo are second and third respectively in strikeouts and eighth and sixth respectively in ERA in the National League.

Gallardo and Vazquez have to be in. Marquis and Ryan Franklin should be taken out, and Gallardo and Vazquez should be in. Four closers is fine, and guys like Vazquez and Gallardo beat any closer's numbers.

People may say Ted Lilly (8-6, 3.32 ERA, 97 K, 1.14 WHIP) should be replaced, but he is the only Chicago Cub representative and is having an incredible year.

All teams would still be represented with these changes since the Rockies also have Brad Hawpe on the team.

Two of these Snubs can be fixed with the final vote, but some have run out of chances.

The American League final vote possibilities are Chone Figgins, Brandon Inge, Ian Kinsler, Adam Lind, and Carlos Pena. Not sure how Carlos Pena and his .232 batting average beat out Jermaine Dye, Miguel Cabrera, Russell Branyan, or Jered Weaver for a final vote possibility.

The National League final vote possibilities are Cristian Guzman, Matt Kemp, Mark Reynolds, Pablo Sandoval, and Shane Victorino. Not sure how Cristian Guzman beat out Michael Bourn, Yovani Gallardo, and Javier Vazquez for the final vote opportunity.

Pitchers should be included in the final vote.

Here's hoping next year there will be no snubs, because I don't want no snubs—a snub is a guy that can't get no love from me.
