Why a picture of Dustin Pedroia? Because he's one of two starters (the other being Josh Hamilton) that doesn't deserve a trip to St. Louis.

It's ridiculous to see some of the players that got in (Hamilton, Curtis Granderson) while others didn't.

Here is the list of people who should have gotten in from the American League. They have put up stellar numbers, but I guess not good enough...

Just a note—there's no catcher snub.

First Base: Miguel Cabrera

The National League had four first basemen, so why not the American League?

Cabrera has put up insane numbers: .324 batting average, 16 home runs, 47 RBI, .928 OPS.

Cabrera's got a better batting average than Mark Teixeira, Kevin Youkilis, and Justin Morneau, and he has more RBI than Youkilis too.

Second Base: Robinson Cano

This WOULD go to Ian Kinsler, but he's on the final man ballot and is going to win it.

Cano is statistically better than Pedroia.

Cano: .304 avg, 13 home runs, 43 RBI, .824 OPS

Pedroia: .291 avg, 3 home runs, 36 RBI, .763 OPS

Pedroia does NOT deserve to be in St. Louis and in the All-Star game.

Shortstop: Marco Scutaro

The two shortstops ahead of Scutaro are more deserving, but from a middle infielder's perspective, Scutaro is more deserving than Pedroia.

Pedroia: .291 avg, 3 home runs, 36 RBI, .369 OBP

Scutaro: .284 avg, 6 home runs, 35 RBI, .383 OBP

Third Base: Scott Rolen

Brandon Inge and Chone Figgins are on the final ballot, so this goes to Scott Rolen. If they were going to chose a third baseman based on average, why not choose Rolen?

Rolen: .331 avg, 6 home runs, 30 RBI, .881 OPS
Michael Young: .314 avg, 10 home runs, 33 RBI, .866 OPS

Outfield: Shin-Soo Choo

Curtis Granderson over Shin-Soo Choo? Seriously?

Choo: .301 avg, 12 home runs, 53 RBI, .889 OPS
Granderson: .256 avg, 18 home runs, 43 RBI, .810 OPS

Also notably omitted were Bobby Abreu and Nelson Cruz.

Outfield: Nick Markakis

That Josh Hamilton was elected is a joke. Markakis continues to be given no credit.

Markakis: .294 avg, 8 home runs, 54 RBI, .803 OPS
Hamilton: .240 avg, 6 home runs, 24 RBI, .746 OPS - DL

Outfield: Jermaine Dye

Jermaine Dye is also more deserving than Curtis Granderson.

Granderson: .256 avg, 18 home runs, 43 RBI, .810 OPS
Dye: .288 avg, 19 home runs, 50 RBI, .920 OPS

Starting Pitcher: Kevin Millwood

Tim Wakefield does not deserve to be on this team. Where is Kevin Millwood?

Millwood: 8-5, 2.80 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, .242 BAA
Wakefield: 10-3, 4.30 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, .259 BAA

I guess playing in Boston automatically gives you a boost.

Starting Pitcher: Jered Weaver

Compare Josh Beckett and Weaver's stats.

Beckett: 9-3, 3.67 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, .238 BAA
Weaver: 8-3, 3.10 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, .223 BAA

Wow, it's not really close. Weaver is the biggest snub.

* Note: Beckett deserves to be there. I'm just saying why isn't somebody with comparable (and better) stats also there?

Closer: David Aardsma

Brian Fuentes is only here because he leads the league in saves. His stats really aren't that good.

Fuentes: 23 Sv, 3 BlSv, 3.49 ERA, 1.24 WHIP
Aardsma: 17 Sv, 1 BlSv, 1.41 ERA, 1.15 WHIP

Also, Aardsma was converted into a closer in the middle of the year. He's adjusted great.
