I continue my Open Competition series with the strong-side linebacker position, also called the SAM linebacker.

As we all know, Kirk Morrison is a lock to start in the middle and Tom Howard is a lock to start on the weak side, but the strong side is up for grabs. Sam Williams has started there before and returns to compete.

Ricky Brown was last year's starter but after injury lost it to Jon Alston. Alston played well there last year and has bulked up a lot and still seems to have maintained his ability.

Let's take a look at everybody.
