NFL, AFC West, Oakland Raiders, Al Davis, Satire

"BOOOOOOOOOOOOO," that's the sound everyone heard at Radio City Music Hall when the Raiders selected Darren McFadden with the fifth overall pick of the 2008 NFL Draft.

These boos were started by Jets fans who would have liked McFadden as a running mate of Thomas Jones in the still gelling Jets offense.

But Al Davis, the owner of the Oakland Raiders for 50-some years now (dating back to the AFL Raiders), wouldn't allow that to happen, because he attempted to "bolster" his backfield which was already carrying three potential starting running backs.

Every Raiders fan hates this man and wants him to leave or die a slow and painful death. The NFL during the 90's also wanted this. But this man, throughout all the peril and the grief, is still standing tall in northern California.

This determination not to leave reminds me of real-life issues. By this, I mean politics. Hillary Clinton, New York Senator and Presidential Candidate, just never knows when to leave.

She's been in this race for two years now and led for awhile, until Barack Obama came from behind, and now has led for six months.

With the remaining time left in this race, many Democrats have started to get irritated with her perseverance and resolve to win the race.

This brings me back to Al Davis, a man who had several opportunities to sell the team and have everyone forget about his horrible tenure as an NFL executive.

But no. He wasn't going to go that easily.

Sadly, with a lot of NFL functions and stadiums going up in Los Angeles, Al Davis can just sell the Raiders, move them, and turn their current stadium into his own personal retirement home.

Its slogan can be "Stay with us and your life will last as long as my arrogance."

In conclusion, anyone can see these two people should really leave, and fast.

  1. Dude don't even attempt to bring politics into this. You're veiws are not only completely bias but they are also obscenely wrong.

    1. OK Dacher

    2. so what if they are biased? This is a sports article. He can write whatever he wants and we can tell him what we think. Why dont you prove him wrong rather than telling him what to write. Both Davis and Hilary should get out because they are both morons and cant run a country or an NFL team. Hilary will blow up the first country she that says no to the US to show she's tought like the Guys. And davis drafted MCfadden over dorsey.

    3. I see your point and i agree with what u say

    4. Good Point GSG and Thank You

  2. Dascher shut up. You're just as bias as Nino. You're bias of Jeter because he can fill a full hand with World Series Rings.

    1. Actually I'm not bias. Fimbar just stop crying abvout it. You know nothing about sports. And personally i don't care how amny rings Jeter has. Most are tainted becuase of Clemens Pettite Knaubluach and Justice just to name a few.

    2. Dacher all you care about are the Mets. Face it there not the on'y team in the MLB. Don't say I on'y care about the Yankees. Thats why I have an Alfonso Soriano cubs jersey and route for the Cubs, Phillies, and a lot of other teams but the team I'm die-hard for is the Yankees.

    3. Finbar you're horrible at sports. You don't root for anyone but the Yankees so stop making it seem that way and I do understand that more teams exist.

    4. Not true Matthew. I have 4 screen names and all of them are teams other than the Yankees. I route for 3 other teams. What's your only Mets 51**. Not revealing the last two numbers.

  3. Um... Did Hillary spurn your advances or something Nino? This kind of stuff is garbage. Leave your kindergarten-level understanding of politics out of a sports forum. Crap like this makes me want to vote for whoever posters like you don't like. I understand you're going for satire, but the politics of this just don't make any sense.

  4. thank god the raiders are not in the 49er ownership dilemna.

  5. Maybe the Al should quit and Hire Tom Donahue or Hire Mike Martz...ridiculous the shit on the web

  6. Ah yes, another perfectly good article.....for printing out, and using in the bottom of a birdcage.
For one, everything Al Davis has created, from super bowl winning teams, to keeping the Raiders running, to helping put the AFL-NFL merger together on paper, wasn't the trademark of a coat-tail rider like hillary.
Secondly, Al has done more in the game of football, as far as minorities go, than the rest of the NFL could do in what, 80 years? We had the first Hispanic coach, the first black coach. Why do the haters dislike him?
Call it trophy envy. Call it lack of class with their own organization. Or call it, just plain stupidity, that they can't find a real reason to hate Al.
But don't try to link Al with Hillary.....age wise, you might get McCain, because they're almost the same age.....

  7. "Every Raiders fan hates this man"

No facts. False opinion. Wrong analysis. Pathetic writter. Long live Davis

  8. Ducher how about the mets club hand who was selling steriods to most of the steriod users.

  9. it was the Fourth overall pick, lost credibility from the start, plus it was just NOT GOOD...

  10. Real Men i agree with everything u said... i doubt any normal human being wishes death on anyone and certainly not the figure-head of the Nation...this article was written in poor taste...i wonder how this writer would feel if somebody wished death on one of his own elderly family members...
