With takeover talks at a new peak, and Mike Ashley destined for the exit door, sources at St James Park indicate that potential gaffer Alan Shearer has already lined-up the essential purchases necessary to lift the Magpies back into the Premier League next season.
The list undoubtedly contains Championship and League One players in abundance, one would imagine, and in the spirit of such, The Bleacher Report is proud to present the following list of 43 players who are destined for greatness if nurtured in the proper manner.
The most prominent purchases will be outlined on the last page of this presentation, but each of these gentlemen are skilled in their respective positions and will only improve the Magpies if given the opportunity.
[Note: There were several others who had made the list, but had to be changed last minute as other clubs had signed them last week]

As the Championship season draws nearer, Geordies will feel a sense of emptiness thinking of the year ahead. The obvious relegation stigma, and the taunts of the Premier League survivors will have to be borne, unfortunately.
The bright side for many is that finally, Mike Ashley has decided to cut his losses and exit-stage-right. Banker Keith Harris has stipulated that Alan Shearer may indeed get the manager's job permanently, and that Joe Kinnear may return in a directorial capacity.
In the opinion of this writer, the mentioned players may well instill Newcastle United in a position from where challenging for the Championship will not be an issue.
