Lionel Messi's Perfect Through Ball Pass Was Also Filmed from Above

Lionel Messi's pass to pick out Angel di Maria during Argentina's World Cup quarter-final clash with Belgium drew plenty of praise, but one angle you may not have seen of the through ball has come to light.

From the standard camera angle it's impressive enough:

But as you can see from above, the bird's eye view adds another element altogether, showing the space that Messi has to work with and the distance he fires the perfectly weighted pass.

Argentina are back in action against the Netherlands on Wednesday, bidding for a place in the final.
