Liverpool Transfer News and Rumours Tracker: Week of July 7

    As the World Cup draws to a close, attention shifts to the transfer window and just which players the big clubs will bring in and sell.

    In truth, that attention has never really gone away from Liverpool, who have completed deals for Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Emre Can so far this summer, but are now widely expected to lose Luis Suarez to Barcelona.

    There are sure to be several other links regarding incomings and outgoings at the club before the summer is out, and we'll keep track of this week's here.

Karim Benzema to Be Targeted with Luis Suarez Money?

    The Metro report that Liverpool will use their windfall from the Luis Suarez transfer to sign Real Madrid and France forward Karim Benzema for £40 million.

    Such a move would be remarkable, and has to be considered unlikely, bit with the report also stating that Radamel Falcao could be on his way to Real then Benzema might find his place in the team under threat.

Reds Linked with Swansea and Wales Left-Back Ben Davies

    Liverpool are preparing a £10 million move for the Swansea City left-back Ben Davies, according to John Percy and Matt Law in the Daily Telegraph.

    In yet another story claiming that Luis Suarez's move to Barcelona is imminent, it is claimed that Brendan Rodgers could return to his former club for the 21-year-old Welshman, who has impressed at the Liberty Stadium ever since breaking into the first team in 2012.

Wilfried Bony 'In Talks' over Reds Move

    Another Swansea player linked with a move to Liverpool is the Ivory Coast forward Wilfried Bony, who scored twice for his country at the World Cup.

    The forward enjoyed an impressive debut season with the Swans in the Premier League, and the Daily Express's Ben Jefferson appears convinced that he is currently on Merseyside in talks with the Reds.

Liverpool to Cut Their Losses on Iago Aspas

    Forward Iago Aspas is set to depart Liverpool after just a year at the club, with the Daily Star linking him with a return to Spain with Sevilla.

    Aspas has scored just one goal for the club in an FA Cup tie against Oldham Athletic, and he appears to have so future at Anfield despite the imminent departure of Luis Suarez.


Lazar Markovic Due on Merseyside to Complete Move

    The Daily Mirror's David Anderson claims that Lazar Markovic is due on Merseyside to complete his transfer to Liverpool, which is expected to cost the Reds £19.8 million.

    The Serbian will become the club's fourth addition of the summer, with an announcement expected on Thursday.


Lucas Set to Depart as Reds Look to Raise Funds

    Lucas Leiva could leave Liverpool for Italy as the Reds seeks to raise funds for other targets, most notably Southampton defender Dejan Lovren.

    That's the view of Ben Jefferson in the Daily Express, who claims that both Napoli and Inter Milan are in the chase for the Brazilian midfielder. 

Luis Suarez Move Held Up over Payment Structure

    The widely-expected move of Luis Suarez to Barcelona is still expected to go through this week, although it is being held up by the structure of the payment of the £75 million fee according to Jack De Menezes in the The Independent.

    The Uruguayan has agreed virtually every aspect of his move to Catalonia, but the Reds are wanting a significant portion of the fee up front after failing to include forward Alexis Sanchez in the deal.

Tottenham to Rival Liverpool for Divock Origi

    In a repeat of plenty of other transfer sagas down the years, Tottenham have moved late to try and snatch Liverpool target Divock Origi.

    The 19-year-old impressed for Belgium at the World Cup, and whilst plenty had expected Liverpool to tie up the move for the forward and loan him back to Lille, journalist Tony Barrett now claims that Spurs have once again entered the race.

Reds Expected to Complete Lazar Markovic Deal This Week

    The BBC report that Liverpool are in "advanced talks" to sign Benfica's exciting Serbian attacker Lazar Markovic, with a fee of around £25 million expected for one of the brightest young talents in the game.

    Markovic's arrival would increase competition for places in attack at Anfield, with Liverpool-based journalist Tony Barrett tweeting that the deal could be wrapped up this week.

Deal Agreed for Belgium's Divock Origi

    As alluded to in the last slide, a deal has also reportedly been agreed for Liverpool to sign Belgium's exciting teenage World Cup forward Divock Origi.

    However, as has been widely expected and as reported in the Liverpool Echo, the 19-year-old will be loaned back to Ligue 1's Lille for a season to continue his development.

Liverpool Not Giving Up on Alexis Sanchez

    Despite the aforementioned deals for forwards, Liverpool have not yet given up hope of persuading Barcelona's Alexis Sanchez to join them as part of the deal for Luis Suarez, according to the Daily Mail.

    However, the Reds appear to be a distant third in the race for the Chilean's signature, with Arsenal and Juventus also battling it out to sign him.

Dejan Lovren's 'Head Is Already at Liverpool'

    Southampton and Croatia defender Dejan Lovren is unhappy with his club, and says that his "head is already at Liverpool" after Saints rejected a bid for his services.

    ESPN report that the defender said:

    Liverpool sent the offer and the club haven't informed me.

    Not even about the subsequent Liverpool bids. That wasn't right. I found out about the bid from other people which disappointed me and I realised I've got no business staying at Southampton.


Newcastle's Moussa Sissoko Linked to Reds and Monaco

    A small line in L'Equipe links Liverpool to the Newcastle and France midfielder Moussa Sissoko, who scored for his country in the World Cup win over Switzerland.

    The story suggests that Monaco lead the race for the powerful midfielder, but he would make for an interesting addition for the Reds.


American Youngster DeAndre Yedlin Targeted

    Young USA full-back DeAndre Yedlin is being targeted by Liverpool according to the Daily Mirror, with the Reds set to massively increase his salary.

    Seattle Sounders youngster Yedlin, who impressed in the loss to Belgium, earns £60,000 a year in the MLS but has now been targeted by several European clubs following his performances in Brazil.
