Brazil vs. Colombia: Goals, Highlights from World Cup Quarter-Final Match

Host nation Brazil advanced to the semi-finals of the World Cup, holding off South American counterparts Colombia 2-1 on Friday.

They'll next face Germany, who dismissed France earlier on in the day. 

Brazil took the lead on Friday behind Thiago Silva in the seventh minute, as the captain pounced on a corner that Colombia failed to deal with.

Things got a bit chippy between the sides as the half wore on.

 David Luiz put Brazil firmly ahead in the 68th minute with an incredible long-range free-kick to make it 2-0.

Rodriguez made things interesting in the 79th minute, converting from the penalty spot to make it 2-1.

Afterward, Luiz consoled a distraught Rodriguez.
