Kyle Busch needed just two trips out on the track at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Friday to lock up the pole for Sunday's Camping World RV Sales 301.
Busch took just one drive during the opening qualifying round, then one more in the final round to get his second pole of the season. He also had the pole at Martinsville.
On Friday, Busch obliterated the previous course record at Loudon, New Hampshire, set last year, and made this the 13th track record set during qualifying in the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. It was broken about a dozen times on Friday, with Busch's speed of 138.130 mph just ahead of the 137.790 from second place Jimmie Johnson.
Third place was Denny Hamlin, who led after the opening qualifying session, giving Joe Gibbs Racing two of the top three spots along with Busch.
The Camping World RV Sales 301 is set to run Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
