We all thought that Hedo Turkoglu will sign with the Portland Trail Blazers for sure, but at the last minute Turkoglu decides to change his mind.
Maybe he change his mind because he wasn't going to get the $50 million contract he wanted or maybe he seeks to be on a better time.
Hedo Turkoglu changed his mind Friday, deciding not to join the Portland Trail Blazers instead to accept an offer from the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors last-minute bid will give Turkoglu all of the salary-cap space they will get by getting rid of Shawn Marion, Anthony Parker, and Carlos Delfino.
The Raptors expect to have about $10.1 million in cap space to give to Turkoglu for his first-year salary; he would get an eight percent annual raise over the next four seasons of the deal.
Sounds to me like he hit the jackpot, the Raptors have until July 7 to renounce Marion, Delfino, and Parker, so the deal might never go through, I heard that the Raptors are trying to keep Marion for next year but apparently I heard wrong.
Turkoglu's decision to go to the Raptors shocked the NBA because he was the first player to renege on an agreement in principal since Carlos Boozer in 2004.
But they say the deal is more than likely going to go down.
