Larson hit the wall hard after losing a right front tire on lap 76, and finished the Quaker State 400 in 40th place.
Larson seemed to have a Top-15 car up until the crash, but would not return to the track after going into the garage. It was the second disappointing race in a row for the No. 42 team, which had been consistent all year long. Larson only collected four more points in the Sprint Cup standings, and dropped to 12th overall as a result.
