This match deserved extra time and it delivered. 

Germany scored twice in extra time after failing to find the back of the net in regular time to beat Algeria 2-1! 

The Fennec Foxes fought valiantly and created chance after chance but couldn't find the final touch until the 122nd minute when it was too late. 

Andre Schürrle scored the first goal with a beautiful back heel touch and that opened up the Algerian defense to and helped the Germans find another goal, which was needed at the end. 

Germany advances to the quarterfinal again, they've gotten that far in every World Cup since 1954. The French await the Germans in what should be a thrilling matchup.
