Theofanis Gekas Has Penalty Saved, It's Eerily Similar to His Miss in 2012 Ad

Keylor Navas' save to deny Theofanis Gekas during the Costa Rica vs. Greece penalty shootout turned the match the way of the Central Americans—but Gekas' miss was eerily similar to one he made in a 2012 advert for Vodafone.

Greek oracle jokes to one side, Gekas pits his wits against a young boy in the commercial. He strikes the ball left, and at full stretch, the boy pulls off a save.

If the Costa Rican goalkeeper ever relaxes with a bit of Greek television—unlikely, being based in Spain for his club football, but still—he'll have had a big clue as to which way Gekas was going to fire his spot kick.
