France are through to the World Cup quarterfinals after a 2-0 win over Nigeria!
The French spent most of the first half knocking on the door, and the only obstacle was exceptional play from Nigerian keeper Vincent Enyeama, who made save after save.
However, it couldn't last forever, as Les Bleus kept the pressure on and broke through in the 79th minute. Enyeama couldn't clear the line off a corner kick, and Paul Pogba headed the ball home that gave France the lead.
After the goal, Nigeria seemed to wilt under the French attack, giving up an own goal in stoppage time to complete the scoring.
In the end, the French move on and the Nigerians exit the World Cup after two inspiring performances that happened to end in losses.
France will play the winner of the Algeria-Germany matchup in the quarterfinals.
