The WWE is very consistent. The love big, charismatic wrestlers, but they don’t like cruiserweights or care too much about tag teams.
They also don’t want me to announce for them.
In the rejection letter I got yesterday, the Human Resources department was kind enough to “wish me the best of luck in my future endeavors,” the same phrase wrestlers get when they get fired.
So that was cool.
I started as a pro wrestling announcer in 1994, and I’ve been sending in my tapes to the WWF(E) since the beginning.
I’ve made my way to great promotions like IWC and Chikara, peaking with Ring of Honor from 2002-2004.
For some reason, the WWE isn’t buying what I’m selling.
The only way I’m going to make it is to WWE is build a reputation somewhere else. Right now, the only place I’m working is Firestorm Pro in Cleveland.
As I said in my book, This Side of the Mic, in order to reach the top, you have to be so good that they just can’t ignore you anymore.
So that’s my challenge, even at the age of 38.
I’m not giving up.
