Owen will be a free agent as his contract with the Magpies has come to an end. United might sign the aging striker, who is keen to confirm a place for himself in England's World Cup squad, which he believes, "will be easier at a reputable club."

David Villa (Valencia CF)

David Villa's chances of moving away from Valencia aren't looking too good, and even if he does move, he is unlikely to come to the Premier League with FC Barcelona also trying to sign him.

In England, he has stated, he would only like to play alongside Fernando Torres at Liverpool. With a staggering bid worth up to £45 million you never know, Villa might become a Red Devil.

Luis Fabiano (Sevilla)

The leading goal scorer at the Confederations Cup, Brazilian striker, Luis Fabiano has always been on Sir Alex Ferguson's radar.

His high-quality finishing could make him a huge hit with Manchester United.

Fabiano's expected transfer cost is believed to be around £21 million.

Obafemi Martins, Marouanne Chamakh, David Trezguet, Tuncay Sanli, Amr Zaki, Mohamad Zidan, Rafael Sobis, Miroslav Klose, Sergio Aguero, and Edin Dzeko are some of the other players linked with a move to Manchester United.

Who do you think is the best choice to replace Carlos Tevez?
