Martin O'Neill's punditry stint on ITV exploded into life when he took on fellow studio guests Patrick Vieira and Fabio Cannavaro and presenter Adrian Chiles on Friday.
Chiles had asked whether O'Neill would have been better in the wall than the French had been during the match.
O'Neill's takedown of Chiles was superb, and he then turned his attention to those seated beside him.
Cannavaro was captain of Italy's World Cup-winning team in 2006, while Vieira also won the World Cup with France in 1998.
But it didn't stop O'Neill from standing his ground and reminding them of the two European Cups he'd won with Nottingham Forest as a player—a record neither Vieira nor Cannavaro could match.
The episode brought back memories of his infamous encounter with pop star Robbie Williams while working for the BBC in 1998:
Doesn't matter who you are: O'Neill will find a way to cut you down to size.
