Aaron Ekblad, a defenseman from Belle River, Ontario, is poised to be one of the top picks in this year's NHL draft.

At 6'4'' and 217 pounds, Ekblad is a huge kid and one of the best defensive players entering the NHL draft.

Playing for the Barrie Colts in the Ontario Hockey League last season, Ekblad had 23 goals and 30 assists for a total of 53 points.

A winner of the Max Kaminsky Trophy, which is given to the OHL's best defensive player, Ekblad uses his size to his advantage. With a very high hockey IQ, Ekblad excels on the power play and penalty kill.

See who The Hockey News' Ryan Kennedy believes Ekblad compares to and when he'll see time on NHL ice.
