The Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic, and Cleveland Cavaliers are the class of the Eastern Conference.

But the Detroit Pistons have recently nose dived, going 39-43, barely squeaking into the playoffs as the eight seed, and being swept in the first round by the Cavaliers.

But the Pistons could be back to the 2003 to 2005 Pistons: Dominant.

According to multiple media reports, the Detroit Pistons have come to terms with forwards Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva.

Can these two players alone help the Pistons back to Eastern Conference redemption?

Yes, and no.

This should be the first step to the Pistons' redemption. Next step: getting a head coach with some previous coaching experience. You can't have two rookie coaches two years in a row.

But these moves should get the Detroit Pistons started back to the elite of the Eastern Conference. This should be the first move that gets the ball rolling back to Detroit redemption in the NBA.
