Where is WWE's roster? Where are the extravagant entrances? Why is Cody Rhodes wearing body paint?
The big news from the wrestling world revolved around WWE.com's announcement of almost a dozen talent releases on June 12, with names like Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal no longer taking bumps in a WWE ring.
With all this talk of the unemployment rate getting back to pre-recession levels, the massive cuts, collectively known as Black Thursday, won't help that cause.
The cause once known as Cody Rhodes' singles career took another hit with his latest iteration. Rhodes debuted a new Stardust character, basically a knock-off of Goldust. Even if he does make it work, he'll just be good at parading around as Robin to Goldust's Batman, which does not bode well for any future star.
One singles career that's going a bit better is Wade Barrett's. However, Barrett will have to soldier on without his trusted "Bad News" platform. According to F4WOnline (via Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc.), WWE will continue to make significant budget cuts. Unfortunately, this could lead to less extravagant bells and whistles, and Barrett may have to continue his rise without the assistance of an elevated podium.
